EMDR Therapy

What is EMDR Therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is an evidence based integrative trauma treatment that helps people heal from effects of traumatic events.

How does EMDR Therapy work?

EMDR Therapy focuses on the brain’s ability to constantly learn, taking past experiences and updating them with present information.

EMDR Therapy uses eye movements or other bilateral stimulation which seems to unlock the nervous system and allow the mind and body to process the experience and process the unconscious material.

It is important to remember that it is your own brain that will be doing the healing and that you are the one in control.
